New Nursery Rhyme Pack and More! Five for Friday Linky!

 Welcome to my new blog!

YAY! I have a new (updated) look on my blog and buttons! I just love the new design and layout, thanks to Crayonbox Designs. This is my new button :)

The new look has certainly motivated me to add more posts and has rejuvenated my 'creative flair'. Which brings me to my next point...

New Resources uploaded to TPT!

I have finished off 2 resources that I have been working on and are both available in my TPT store.

As with my previous Nursery Rhymes Pack, it includes colour posters with matching graphics, a smaller black and white version of the rhyme for students, fill in the gaps activities, sentences sequencing strips and a handwriting sheet for each rhyme.

My Nursery Rhymes Pack 1 and 2 can be found here. These are available individually or in a discounted bundle.

Sentence Sequencing Activities

Fill in the gaps - cut and paste or write
Copies of the Nursery Rhyme for your students to read or look for words/letters.

Peas on a Plate: Subitizing Number Sense Game

This game can be used as a whole class activity as well as for a small group or as an individual maths centre activity.

Children are required to practise their early number skills by recognising the number of peas on the plate without 1:1 counting.

 MacBook Air!

I got a new laptop! Some of you may have read on my September Currently that I was wanting to get a new, lighter, faster and updated Mac. So after thinking about it a little bit more, I decided that my outdated 2009 Macbook Pro needed an upgrade. Hmmm, I'm noticing a theme here…. Out with the old and in with the new! ;)

Non-Fiction Australian Animals Writing

My little ones have been doing some fabulous non-fiction writing. This week, whilst learning about the Comprehension Strategy Questioning, I read the children a book about Australian Animals. Before reading we asked lots of questions (most of the children hadn't even herd of some of the animals like echidnas and platypus'). Once we read the book, the children summarised some of the new information they learnt. I was very impressed in their writing, but also with the amount of information they retained!

One week of term left!

Now that Week 9 is over, we now only have 1 week of term left! Then 2 weeks school holidays! I have quite a bit going on during the break - my cousin is getting married and it is the footy grand final so no doubt there will be lots of catching up with friends and celebrations to be had.

I can't believe how quickly the term has gone!
